Lauren Maddox
I grew up in
the 4-H world showing Hunter and Western ponies. My interest in judging was bought about by
studying Hippology and joining the judging team.
In my young
adulthood, I was privileged to work for some of the top show and breeding barns
in Virginia. This included Saddlebreds,
Morgans, Arabs, Hackneys, Gypsy Vanners and the Stock breeds. My knowledge and admiration of all breeds continued
to grow.
In 2000,
after campaigning my Quarter Horse to VQHA year end All Around Performance awards,
I made the decision to relinquish my Amateur status, and become a judge.
Currently, I
hold cards for VHSA, ABRA, GVHS, POA and NC Open. My list of shows judged includes Futurites,
Regionals, Classics, State and District, open shows of all sizes, and has taken
me from Michigan to Georgia.
My love of
judging comes from wanting to give back to 4-H and the sport that has given so
much to me.
